2017 March 18th

Just took the pictures of my VStar 650 with the new saddle bags. It took me a bit longer than anticipated. I would estimate about 12 hours maximum. Of course any good mechanic would probably have had the project completed within about 3-4 hours, but I tend to overthink and move real slow when I work on my vehicles. Besides, nothing ever goes as planned. The longest part was the first day where I was planning the move of the rear turn signals. I got a bracket with the saddle bag kit to move the lights to the license plate frame because the bags would be in the way of the stock location. Part of the delay was also not being familiar with how to disassemble the rear brake light assembly in order to disconnect the turn signal wiring.

I took plenty of pictures and a few movies mostly of the turn signal procedure. By the time I was ready to mount the brackets for the bags, I just wanted to get the job done and it seemed pretty easy thanks to some great videos done by the Viking Bags. The only real difference that I felt needed to be recorded was the turn signal relocation for my particular bike and the lack of videos available on youtube. As of today, I still need to prepare the images / videos but should be forthcoming.
